STATIC
STATIC
You are a Spark — the last line of defense on a dying circuit board.
Corrupted data nodes swarm toward your core. Your only weapon is the electrical field surrounding you: everything inside it takes damage, but everything inside it hits you back. Expand your reach and risk destruction, or play it safe and get slowly overwhelmed. That's the tension at the heart of STATIC.
What is it?
STATIC is an incremental survivors game set on a neon-lit circuit board. Enemies spawn around you. Your aura damages them automatically. They retaliate. You collect their drops, die, upgrade, reboot, and push further.
How it plays
- Tick-based combat — Your electrical field pulses damage to all enemies inside it. Every enemy hit retaliates simultaneously. More reach means more damage dealt and taken.
- 6 discharge patterns — Activate abilities like Radial Pulse, Arc Discharge, Tesla Coil, and more. Each has its own upgrade path.
- Chain lightning — Arcs jump between clustered enemies with decaying damage. Position matters — tight groups get fried.
- Shields + HP — A regenerating shield buffer rewards careful play. Armor rewards aggression. Specialize or balance both.
- Time pressure — HP degenerates faster the longer you survive. Every session is a race against entropy.
The loop
- Fight — Survive as long as you can. Kill the Corruption Boss to end the session.
- Upgrade — Spend 6 currency types across 80+ upgrade nodes in 7 branches: Power, Vitality, Conductivity, Efficiency, Magnetism, Architecture, and Patterns.
- Prestige — Reboot the board. Enemies scale up. You unlock new mechanics. 25 prestige tiers.
- Purge — Accumulate 1000 Voltage. Defeat the System Corruption final boss across 3 phases. Purge the system. Win.

It's too tedious and boring. There are few chips, they give little. Upgrades give little and the effect is almost invisible. I played for an hour and a half, and nothing changed. I haven't seen a single boss, and there aren't any new mechanics.
I rebalanced the upgrade effects to be more noticeable. Bosses typically spawn at 180 seconds in.
You'll see the boss at 3 minutes in a run. Which can be reached and beaten with the difficulty reduction, armor upgrade, damage and critical chance.
It is a very slow, monotonous game though and the stuff you get with prestige isn't that useful.
