Portal Pool
Portal Pool is a classic game of 8-ball billiards with a simple but surprising twist: every turn, two pockets on the table are linked by a wormhole.
When a ball drops into one of these pockets, it instantly emerges from the other. The connection changes each turn, turning familiar pool shots into a mix of planning, prediction, and controlled chaos. Sometimes the portals save you. Sometimes they completely ruin your plan.
The goal is still to play by standard 8-ball rules, but success depends on how well you adapt to the shifting layout of the table. Safe shots become risky, risky shots become clever, and positioning matters more than ever.
This is an experimental release meant to explore how the portal mechanic changes the feel of pool. I’m especially interested in whether the portals feel strategic rather than random, and how quickly players start using them intentionally instead of avoiding them.
If you like traditional games with small twists that lead to big changes in strategy, I’d love to hear what you think.
